Brahmotsavam at this temple is being celebrated for a period of ten days starting from the third Friday in the Tamil Month of Karthigai (November - December) every year On the nineth day, there is Temple car coming round the Temple through the four main streets and on last Sunday there is Theerthawari (Sacred water distributuin to the public). But according to the Sthalapurana the big festival appear to have been celebrated during the Tamil months of chithirai and Vaikasi. Lord Nataraj is taken in procession round the Temple main streets on Thiruvathirai day in Tamil Month of Markazhi (December - January) every. On every Ist day of the Tamil month thai (January-February) goddess Girigujambika is adorned with punugu (Scent variety got from Cibet cat). During this second period of the Sivarathiri day in Tamil month Masi (February - March) every year, the function of Nagaraja worshipping Lord siva celebrated. On chithra Pournami day Lord Muruga and in Tamil month Vaikasi (May-June) on vishakam star day Lord somaskantha are taken in procession. On the 18th day of Tamil month Aadi (July- August) Goddess Distributes sacred water to devotees at the bank of river Nattaru. During Tamil Month Purattasi (September - October) Navarathiri Function is celebrated. During Kanthasashti celebration, soorasamhara function is held in great veneration by people belonging to Sengundha Mudhaliyar Sect. It is said that this temple owns 60 Velies of Nanja and Punja Lands. And these Lands are in Sannapuram, Murukkangudi, lvarpadi, Krishnapuram etc., villages, In addition There are Endownments for performing Various ritvals this temple, including Nataraja endownment, Kumara Endownment. there are several ornaments in the Temple for the Lord and his consorts. The Temple Administration was looked after by kumbakonam Dhevasthan committee till 1945, when the Telmple admisistration came under the Executive Officer and Trustees appointed by the Hindu Religions and Endownment Department of the Tamil Nadu Government and it is being done in a proper manner.
